YEAH!: youth for the Environment action and heart
Awesome. :) I think the organising committee did a very good job.
Games in the morning - got me doing forfeits twice (banana & chicken dance, ha) -.- How suay. But yea, fun!
Green cafe, global cafe-like. like what we did during SS.
There were 3 topics. 1st was 'what are the needs and profile of youths today? 2nd, 'how have the needs and profile of our youth contributed to an ailing environment?' 3rd, 'what can we do to conserve the environment?'
Hahah, I think I learnt alot from others, from India, Malaysia, Singapore, and whatever they thought about the topics mentioned. Pretty good exposure to difference POVs & I learnt I dare to speak up much more in small groups -.- I was babbling and being all animated while talking. And Shina's EQ is ZERO. I'm exaggerating but really! :(
Me: "Shina, your EQ is scary. ZERO?"
Shina: "I know. You know your EQ is sky high, and I think your whole class got influenced."
-.- Hah. Thanks Shina. :]
OH BEFORE I GO ON, ALL THE FOOD'S REALLY GOOD.
and yes, I
fell downtripped over my left leg, landed on my right, having another BEAUTIFUL wound on my right knee. It's the 4th time on that same spot this year, la.
The 'project' or whatever we had to do was done during "Earth Clinic". Basically research, listing out consequences of environmental stuff, and brainstorm 5 things which an 'earth caretaker' can do to increase awareness etc - which is why we had to plan a project to embark on or we think will help the environment/people change their mentalities & be motivated to contribute by making changes in their daily lives x) I joined Venezia, Huiying, Zhixin, Rida, Kimberly & Melissa's group since I didn't sign up for any -.- We chose to do "Cities are generating too much garbage/rubbish" 'cos we thought most would have gone for things like mosquito-borne diseases since dengue's so "in" now, and global warming - an issue discussed in ST like almost everyday. Discussions were quite funny, and fun. (everything is, ha)
And, or rather but, I finally realised how conflicts within groups can spark scary arguments/quarrels which I'm obviously afraid of (the aggressiveness especially).
If you were to ask me what I brought back from this experience, 1 sentence, "I will not leave my computer on standby again, and self-motivation is intangible so I have to make the effort."
YEAH.
this lizard caught my eye! X)
you know michelle hwang can't survive without technology. now, talk about conserving resources/energy.
